Videos default to a zoomed in state in an Inbox conversation attachment


This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 12/06/23.


After attaching a video to an Inbox Conversation attachment, playing the video only displays a zoomed in portion.

Expected Behavior

Instead the video should show the full video instead of a zoomed in view of it.


Play the video in full screen mode

Steps to Reproduce

  • Prerequisite: Two users in an active course.

  1. As a user, go to the Inbox and compose a new message.

  2. Select to upload or record a video and send it to someone.

  3. Go to the Sent messages and view the recently sent message.

  4. Notice that the video preview shows a zoomed-in view, and if you select to play, it plays in a zoomed-in view.
