[a11y] Quiz index sub-menu options are not identified by NVDA or JAWS on Chrome

This behavior has been resolved and deployed to the production environment as of 6/18/25.

Description

When using NVDA or JAWS screen readers on Chrome, the sub-menu options expanded from kebab menu to the right of individual quizzes are not identified.

Expected Behavior

Kebab menu options on the quizzes index page should be identified as they are on the assignment index page.

Workaround

No workaround exists at this time.

Steps to Reproduce

  • In any course with an existing quiz, navigate to the course with NVDA or JAWS active.

  • Open the quiz index page.

  • Tab through the selections until you reach the first quizzes sub-menu (⋮) hit space to expand.

  • Note that while using NVIDA the options cannot be selected using the arrow keys and the options are not identified or accessible through Screenreader controls.

  • Note that while using JAWS the options focus will change with the arrow keys but the menu options are not identified while selected.

  • Navigate to the assignments index page and tab to the first quizzes kebab menu, hit space to expand.

  • Note that all menu options are accessible and identified while in focus.
