Comparing Standard Mastery each year

We have students retaking a course this year. I want to see student growth on a particular strand from last year to this year. Example: Students learned mulitstep equations last year and were assessed in Mastery Connect. They are retaking the course and being assessed on multistep equations (same standard number) again this year, with a different teacher, in a different course. I am familiar with making custom reports, but not sure if there is a way to compare performacne on assessments from this school year and last school year.
