Lock Mastery Connect Assessments in Canvas

Our school would like to limit student access to mastery connect assessments that are being given in Canvas so that students who are absent the day of testing can't take the test. Preferably, we'd like to be able to add a password like you can with quizzes. Is there currently any way to do this?

I don't use Mastery Connect and don't know if it has a native feature to do this, but if you are using modules in Canvas, you can set up Requirements and then place a quiz immediately before the MC assignment. If the quiz has a password, and the requirements are set that students have to work in order, then students won't be able to open the MC external tool assignment until they have taken the quiz (which could be a single-question quiz used just to open the next assignment, which would be the actual assessment from MC). Students who are absent won't have the password for the quiz (and/or the correct answer to earn a high enough score) and won't be able to proceed.

Thank you! This is definitely an acceptable work around! Hopefully we'll get the same passcode option for mastery connect assessments that we have for canvas created quizzes.
