This article explains the information provided on the scaled reports for the Mississippi Mastery View Predictive Assessments.
These reports are provided as PDF and XLSX reports via ShareFile or downloaded by teachers or by administrators from within Mastery Connect.
Sample Assessments Results
View a sample of a Mississippi 3rd Grade ELA Scaled MVPA Administration Report (Class Level).
Pct Corr [1]: The percent of items answered correctly.
Scale Score [2]: The scale score facilitates conversions to performance levels.
For classrooms, school, and district summaries, the Perc Proj Prof (Percent Projected Proficient) [3] includes levels 3, 4, and 5.
Ach Lev [4]: The achievement level for the student based based on the assessment and the percentage of correct answers.
ELA/Math/Science/US HIstory Achievement Level Descriptions:
- 5 = Advanced, with levels of High (+), Low (-), or Midlevel (no sign) designated.
- 4 = Proficient, with levels of High (+), Low (-), or Midlevel (no sign) designated.
- 3 = Passing, with levels of High (+), Low (-), or Midlevel (no sign) designated.
- 2 = Basic, with levels of High (+), Low (-), or Midlevel (no sign) designated.
- 1 = Minimal, with levels of High (+), Low (-), or Midlevel (no sign) designated.
Sugg Marks [5]: If given, Suggested Marks are numeric or letter grades that take into account the difficulty level of the assessment. They are only suggestions, and grading always remains the domain of the teacher/school/district.
Additional Categories
Note the following for the additional categories shown on the report:
- The performances on all the additional categories are given in Achievement Levels 1-5. Refer to Proj Ach Level description above for details on each achievement level.
- The aggregate data for teachers, schools and districts in each category are the averages of all student's achievement levels for that category.
- Under the names of the categories “n=#” indicates how many items there were under the particular category.
DOK [6]: Depth of knowledge indicates how each student performed on items for higher and lower order thinking skills. DOK levels 1, 2 and 3 are the categories for thinking skills. DOK Level 1 items are lower order while levels 2 and 3 are higher order.
Text Difficulty [7]: How each student performed in each of the three levels:
- Readily Accessible (Easy)
- Moderately Complex (Medium)
- Very Complex (Hard)
Reporting Category/GroupResults [8]: How each student performed in each of the reporting groups covered.
Note: The category used in the Results section depends on the subject and the number of standards covered on the assessment. If there are enough items per standard/objective (i.e., the most specific category available), the report is by standard/objective. Otherwise, the report is by a higher (less specific) category (i.e., strand, domain, etc.) that best reflects student understanding. Some categories may also be grouped together when most appropriate.
