Change New Quizzes option to open in new tab

I created a quiz in Quizzes 2. Originally, I checked the box to have it open in a new tab, however, I'd like to change that and uncheck the box. After going back to the editing screen, that option is no longer available. Is there a way to change this without having to completely redo the entire quiz? Picture provided below:

@tinberst The option to open in a new tab is there for external tools (LTIs), however this option doesn't apply to New Quizzes. Even though you checked that box, the quiz will open in the same tab in the browser. It will not have the course menu on the left side though. Here is what the student view of New Quizzes looks like.

It's indeed possible to configure a new quiz to open in a new tab. I'm looking at one such quiz right now.

I have the same question as @tinberst and hope someone can weigh in on it!

I had a question from an instructor today about this issue, and could not figure out HOW they had even made a New Quiz open in a new tab.  Turns out they made an assignment, selected "External tool" from assignment type, and selected an option called "Quizzes 2."  This was the original way of making a Canvas New Quiz. 

We have now deleted this option from the list of External Tools.  However, there does not seem to be a fix if the person selected the assignment to open in a tab before they selected the Quizzes 2 tool.  I will be following up with support@instructure.com to see if they have any ideas.

Um... When was it deleted? Because I seem to have managed to do the same thing just in early December 2023, and I've been trying to find a way to undo it without rewriting the quiz from scratch. Copying the quiz doesn't help. I'm about to save all the questions into a question bank and try to make a new quiz from scratch, but that's a lot of work.

Yes, it is several years later (2021 to 2025) and I have the same question. Does anyone know to change a New Quizzes quiz from opening in a new window without recreating the quiz?
