Way to duplicate an item bank

A common scenario at Colorado State U is an instructor shares access to their course so that another instructor can import a copy of their content.  Then the courses are considered separate and would not want to share item banks. 

Or a coordinator develops content, including an item bank, that will be made available to multiple instructors.  In some scenarios, a shared item bank would make sense, it others each instructor would need their own, independent version of the item bank.

Is there currently a way to duplicate an item bank that can be given to another instructor, which is not shared in any way?  If not, is this under consideration?

This isn't something I've seen yet in the upcoming updates unless it's tied to the quiz "export" functionality.  Since we develop templates in my area and share with multiple instructors that each want to customize their version of the question banks used in a course, I was hoping to see this feature be a part of the "export" functionality they are developing before July 2023 but I'm not sure it is.  

Manually building the same question banks multiple times was the only solution we've had so far directly in New Quizzes...   Right now though as we have classic quizzes our workaround solution is to build the banks in Classic Quizzes and export them so we have a backup of the originals and then import them multiple times so we have multiple versions we can share.

Hopefully a better solution will come around by the time classic quizzes goes away.  And hopefully I'm missing another option 🙂

I too would hope that exporting quizzes/item banks will allow for making a copy for another instructor, a copy that becomes unrelated to the original.  We do not always want others being able to edit our banks, while they need to customize for themselves.  

Not to mention the ability to bring new quizzes along to a different institution.

"Export a new quiz outside of an account" is on the timeline Transparency into Quizzes Planning - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com).  That doesn't mention exporting item banks, though.  I just asked the question about whether item banks would also be exportable on Classic Quiz Sunset 2024 Feedback - Instructure Community (canvaslms.com)
