Aligned Badges on Skill Pages [Added 2025-10-01]

Summary

An Aligned Badges tab is added to individual Skill pages in Canvas Credentials. This tab displays all badges linked to the selected skill, with options to search, sort, and filter by issuer. Org Admins and Issuer Staff can export the list to CSV for reviews and reporting, and each badge is clickable for quick access to its full details.

Change Benefit

This feature allows Admins and Issuers gain instant visibility into badge coverage for a skill, enabling faster audits, gap analysis, and governance with exportable evidence. Org Members get a clearer view of where a skill appears across badges, supporting consistency and reuse. Learners and Employers benefit from a more coherent skill story when badges are shared publicly, improving comprehension and trust.

Feature Workflow

Skills Page Aligned Badges Tab

In the Skills page, click the Aligned Badges tab [1]. Users can browse a list of badges [2], use the Search field to filter by badge name and keywords [3], click the Filters button [4] to filter by issuer or sort the list of badges by Name or creation date [5]. To view badge details, click the Badge to open a new tab [6]. Org Admin or Issuer staff can click the Export CSV button [7] to download the current results.

The CSV export contains the following fields:

• Skill name
• Skill id (if exists)
• Skill page public link
• Associated badge name
• Associated badge id
• Associated badge's issuer name
• Associated badge's issuer Id
• Assertion nr from the badge

Additional Details

• The list respects organization membership and public visibility rules.
• Data reflects current badge–skill alignments shortly after updates.
• Exports honor the active search, filter, and sort settings.
• There are no changes to badge creation or the Skill Tray; this is a viewing and reporting enhancement on Skill pages.

Summary

Canvas Credentials Beta environments are updated to reflect the rebrand to Parchment Award Digital Badges. Users can access Beta environments through new URLs and see the rebranded look and feel across the interface. The rebranded interface will be available in the production environment in a future release.

Note: Beta environments are unavailable September 29–October 5, 2025, due to scheduled maintenance.

Change Benefit

This update provides customers an early preview of the rebranded interface before production changes. It allows institutions to update documentation, training, and integrations in advance, while also validating workflows and integrations under the new Parchment Award Digital Badges identity.

Additional Details

• Beta environments sync with production data every Saturday, including users, issuers, badge classes, and pathways. Assertions, groups, and auto-award objectives are excluded from these syncs.
• Customers without a Beta environment can request access by submitting a support ticket. New environments are created and populated after the next Saturday sync following approval.
