ActiveClass enables enhanced opportunities for inclusive, humanized and substantive student-to-student and student-to-instructor interactions through two modern applications, ActiveFeed and ActiveAssignments which both fully reside inside of Canvas.

ActiveFeed is a modern, social-media-inspired course stream that provides a comprehensive space for the posting of interactive announcements, sharing of social content, polls, live presentations, making and posting of short videos and audio clips that can help students feel welcome and create communities of learning.
ActiveAssignments elevates the standard, gradable discussion forum with time-saving tools like required or recommended word counts and bulk criteria-based grading, allowing instructors to focus on knowledge transfer over administrative tasks. Additionally it’s easy to create fair and equitable discussion environments through anonymized, bias-free grading, originality scoring via Turnitin integrations, and proper discussion flows with multiple due dates for posting and commenting.
Accessibility
At ActiveClass we care about every user and ensuring our platform is accessible and enjoyable for everyone, regardless of learning preferences or challenges. The ActiveClass platform was built using Angular and SASS technologies coupled with a state of the art API. Our API provides dynamic information to browsers which aids in identifying objects on the page. We remain committed to W3C's Web Accessibility Initiative and Section 508 guidelines through the use of modern technologies and continual reviews of our platform's accessibility. The Voluntary Product Accessibility Template, or VPAT, is a tool that administrators and decision-makers can use to evaluate ActiveClass' conformance with the accessibility standards under Section 508 of the Rehabilitation Act.
