Timer on Quiz Questions

I want to give a quiz in Canvas, with questions popped up one at

a time for 1 minute and then locked, followed by the next question.

Is it possible in Canvas?

Hello,

Not exactly as you want it to work but you could setup a time limit so if you have 10 questions you give the quiz a time limit of 10 minutes and you can select to show just one question at a time. They can spend more than one minute on a question but only one question will show at a time and if they spend too much time on one question they will run out of time before completing the quiz.

Yes, I give one question a time, lock the question after answering and give a limited time for the test.

I think that what I want, say 1 minute or 5 minute or certain time for each question, is not possible in Canvas.

Elena - I know this is way late, but I just stumbled across it, so I figured I would put in a possible workaround for anybody else that searches for this issue.

If you are not opposed to a lot of extra work(and I mean a lot), here is a workaround for what you want to do

1) create 10 separate quizzes - 1 for each question and each with a 1 minute time limit (name them something like quiz1.1, quiz1.2, etc)

2) create a Quiz 1 module and put all 10 quizzes in the module in numerical order

3) Edit the module heading so that you can change the requirements on the module such that the items have to be answered in sequential order and then you select the requirements (you have to do this 10 times - once for each quiz question) and select submit the assignment.

Students then get the first question for 1 minute - which when submitted will open the second question for taking by the student, etc.

Very far from the ideal case, but it does exactly what you want
