Detailed Grade Sync
Detailed grade sync view is updated for instructors and admins, providing information about the overall success of a sync, the amount of data extracted and filtered from Canvas, and information about affected sections, assignments, and grades. Previously, instructors could only view information about assignments in each sync, as well as an error log associated with any errors.
Grade sync details can be opened by selecting the Status Details link. Grade Sync details can also be opened from the SIS Assignments and SIS Grades links.
A summary of the data sync displays in the Overview tab.
At the top of every grade sync details page, the sync information displays the Canvas course ID, the user who posted the sync, and the job ID number.
The Filtered Canvas Data tab displays statistics for the number of extracted and filtered items.
Filtered Canvas Data displays the number of extracted data items for three categories:
- Sections: the number of Canvas course sections included in the sync.
- Assignments: the number of unique assignments included in the sync.
- Grades: the number of unique assignment scores included in the sync.
Sync details for the assignments included in the sync are available in the Assignments Sync tab. Previously, Admins had to download logs to view sync details. Now, Admins can view sync logs in the UI.
The Assignments Sync graph displays the number of assignments that updated and failed.
The Assignments Log displays a list of all assignments included in the SIS sync. The list also includes the course section, and the number of grade submissions for each assignment. The log can be sorted and filtered to view specific sync information.
To view a course assignment, admins and instructors can click the assignment name link. They can also view detailed grade sync information by clicking the submission count link.
Assignment logs that include additional information can be downloaded as a CSV file. Previously, admins and instructors had to download logs to view sync details. Now, admins and instructors can view sync details in the UI.
The Grades Sync table displays individual student grades included in the sync.
