5. After saving, refresh your page.

6. Navigate to the Search area of course navigation and begin searching.

  • In the search box, type in keyword(s), content, or just give a general gist of what you are looking for (“guitar”, “what are the steps of photosynthesis?”, “math to turn a function into frequencies“).
  • The very first search in a course may take a little bit of time to display results, as it initiates the indexing of course content. Subsequent searches should be quick.

Enabling Smart Search at the subaccount means all courses within that subaccount will have access to Smart Search.

If you’d prefer to limit the access to the Smart Search feature option, you may choose to Disable/Unlock the Smart Search feature option in a select subaccount, while Disabling/Locking in others.

As a reminder of the behaviors, when applied at a sub-account:

  • Disable/Lock: No courses will be able to enable Smart Search.
  • Disable/Unlock: Smart Search is off by default but individual courses can enable it.
  • Enable/Lock: Smart Search is on by default and individual courses cannot change that. (Not recommended in this beta, unless creating a dedicated sub-account for testing Smart Search.)
  • Enable/Unlock: Smart Search is on by default but individual courses can disable it.

3. Instructors may need to ensure “Search” is enabled in the Course Navigation menu.
