We're excited to invite you to participate in a special survey that will help us improve the Canvas Catalog Category menu. As a valued user, your insights are crucial to us. We understand that the current version of the Category menu has not met your expectations, and we've been working diligently to create more user-friendly alternatives.

In this survey, you'll be presented with four new versions of the Category menu in the Canvas Catalog. Each version has been designed with the goal of enhancing usability and providing a better overall experience. Your feedback will play a vital role in validating these design ideas and guiding our final decisions.

Here’s what we’re asking you to do:
1. Review: Carefully examine each of the four new versions of the Category menu.
2. Evaluate: Consider how each version meets your needs and preferences based on your experience with the current menu.
3. Provide Feedback: Share your thoughts, likes, and dislikes for each version.

Your input is invaluable as we strive to make the Canvas Catalog more intuitive and user-friendly. We believe that with your help, we can create a design that truly enhances the user experience for everyone.

Hi @matekiss - I can't really develop an informed opinion of these versions; the first talks about adding, but there's no indication of how the addition process might work.

It's also really hard to see the pitfalls given the different number of entity listings for each type in each scenario; some are busy and full while others only have one or two selections. Where are the non-selected tags presented, and how is this seen?

How does filtering and search work when adding tags? Will it work the same in a large list for removal?

Ultimately, consistency with the rest of the platform is most desirable, so I don't have cognitive overhead when using this feature in Catalog compared to other places I'm dealing with a potentially large number of entities to add or remove.

Hello @Mikee

Thank you for your detailed feedback and for taking the time to review the new versions of the Category menu. I understand your concerns regarding the clarity and consistency of the new designs. Let me address each point you raised:

1. Addition Process: I see your point here. I can assure you that we don't want to implement any new processes regarding how to add or delete a tag. The main purpose of the survey is to decide which design is the best for these purposes. If any of them are not self-explanatory, you can add this as a note also without any problem. That information is useful for us as well.

2. Entity Listings and Presentation: The varying number of tags can make it challenging to see through the overall usability. The survey includes scenarios with different quantities of listings to show how each version performs under varying conditions. But in general, it's true for all versions that the non-selected tags remain in their dropdown if they are not selected. They are not shown anywhere separately.

3. Filtering and Search: The versions are using two different approaches to filtering and searching for tags. In Version A, while you are typing the tag, we search the database in the background. In the other version, we use a dropdown solution.

4. Consistency with the Platform: Consistency is indeed essential to reduce cognitive overhead. We have designed these versions with platform consistency in mind, but your feedback highlights the need for us to emphasize this aspect more clearly.

Thank you again for your valuable insights. If you have any more suggestions, please don’t hesitate to let me know.
