Grading Schemes (Admins) Video Script

In this video, you will learn how to create, edit, and enable account-level Grading Schemes.

To begin, click the Grading link in Account Navigation. If you use Grading Periods, you will need to select the Grading Schemes tab. Otherwise, Grading will open to Grading Schemes by default. To create a new grading scheme in your account, click the Add grading scheme button. To edit the grading scheme name, type in the scheme name field. To edit the range name, type in the name field. To edit the minimum end of each range, type in the To percent field. To insert another range into the grading scheme, click the Add icon. To delete an individual range, click the Remove icon. To save your new grading scheme, click the Save button.

To edit a grading scheme, click the Edit icon. To delete a grading scheme, click the Delete icon and then click the OK button to confirm deletion. Note that if you delete a grading scheme at the account level that has been enabled at the course level, the grading scheme will not be deleted from the course.

After grading schemes are created at the account level, they can be enabled in a course. In course navigation, click the Settings link. To enable a course grading scheme, click the Enable course grading scheme checkbox. To set a course grading scheme, click the set grading scheme link. To change the default grading scheme, click the Select another scheme link. Select a grading scheme from the list and click the Use This Grading Standard button. To set the course grading scheme, click the Done button. The grading scheme will be applied to students' final grades. Grading schemes can also be enabled at the assignment level and will be applied to specific assignment grades.
