I meant to ask if there was a way to disable all the announcements that roll over when you do a course copy. I do want to use the announcements, but don't want them all to show from the first day of the term.  I couldn't' find a button to unpublish an announcement.  However, our Canvas pro at EFSC just sent me an email advising that I'd need to edit each announcement and select a 'delay' date.  That will work.  If anyone has an easier way to do them all at once, please advise. 🙂
