New Quizzes needs more help text and/or tooltips.

For example: the current version leaves our users in a position where they rely on their own interpretation of quiz question types in the Build tool.

Above is the question type selection pop-up window when users add a question in a New Quiz. There are no tooltips (when I mouse over the selections, like "+ Formula", etc.) explaining what each question type does. The user is therefore relying on their interpretation of the question type - and some types are more obvious than others - which leads to a lot of trial and error for some users. Also, there is no tooltip for the Item Bank (denoted by the "piggy bank" icon), leaving the user to interpret that button on their own.

Once the user selects a question type, there may or may not be help text/tooltips explaining what to do in that question type. "Fill in the Blank", for instance, has a question mark the user can click for further information:

Which triggers this modal window:

Setting aside tactfulness of linking to Wikipedia in an academic setting, this help text explains the options fairly clearly to the user. Unfortunately, this approach and help text are not continued across question types. For instance, "Categorization" has no help text, tooltips, or info buttons immediately available to the user:

Even when terms and functions aren't apparent, such as "Distractor", there is not a tooltip to help the user understand the question type.

To sum up, there need to be extensive tooltips and/or help text added to New Quizzes workflows. Question types is just one example, but it's perhaps the most glaring from a UX perspective. One of our team said it seemed like the question types were built by separate teams without a uniform approach for user help, and it seems to be true given the variability between help text quantity and quality, let alone the method of supplying information.

Will this be fixed before our users can no longer create Classic Quizzes (currently marked as 07/2022)?
