@kblack Thank you for taking the time to not only create this document, but share it as well. We have so many faculty members who love to use the Roll Call but instantly shut down as soon as they hear you might have to sort and filter through excel. This will be a great tool for those who are a little hesitant to filter.

I'm not so sure that this even needs to be a feature request but rather a bug fix. The display is wrong and messed up when I look at my courses in Canvas and in Firefox.

@stephanie_pope Thank you for sharing your resources as well. Right now dreesd and I are building a self-paced Canvas Accessibility course and we really want to make sure we provide our faculty with as many resources as possible. I'm excited to go through these resources that you shared to see if we can use some them. Thanks a bunch!!

I looked at all 3 samples and I like sample 2 best. Sample 1: I feel like the icons that link to the guides are too cluttered. Most of the time when someone comes to the guides for the first time, they don't know where they are going or what exactly they're looking for. Sample 1 doesn't do a good job of easily communicating the information needed to the user. Sample 2: I noticed that with sample 2 I was able to quickly see the FAQs on the left hand side. I a little unsure as to red being the best option for color. There is lots of red in the icons and after looking at it for several minutes on my monitor - my eyes actually start to hurt a little bit. I think that the WELCOME TO THE GUIDES section is unnoticed. I would move it to the left hand side and keep it all there. Here is an image of what I'm talking about: Sample 3: I actually like the big icons of sample 3. However, much with my last comment about Sample 2 - I think the content and FAQ information gets lost on the user by being located on the right hand side. One question though - what will the guides look like once the user clicks on them? Please, tell me we are keeping the table of contents???

I think it would really neat if we could get a thread going in the accessibility group of external resources that everyone uses to educate their faculty and staff on section 508 awareness!

@kate_hill one thing that we just recently started using is Skype for Business to hold faculty forums in the evening. We are able to use this tool since it comes with our Office 365 package so all faculty, staff and students have access to download this free software. We had our first forum this week and it was very successful. We held it in the evening at 6 pm so if anyone had to work earlier in the day they could still attend. We kept it very short (30 minutes) and had a Q&A afterwards. I don't know if you have access to this tool but if not, maybe something similar. We were really glad to see that we could reach our faculty and it worked great virtually.

One of the things that we really try to accomplish is an awareness of the need to have accessible content within all of your courses. I work with dreesd at SCF in Florida and we run a faculty eCertification course. During week 3 we discuss Accessibility, one of the common themes from faculty that we hear is just a misunderstanding of what Accessibility and 508 compliance actually is. Just recently we found a great youtube video that we have started sharing with our faculty. This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas I would like for the attendance to be visible to the students in their grades. If students are being graded on attendance, I believe it is important that we as instructors are able to effectively communicate this to the students. Comments from Instructure For more information, please read through the Canvas Production Release Notes (2016-09-17) This feature release has been delayed and will not be available in production on September 17. An updated release date will be made available soon.

@learym1 last year they recorded all of the sessions and posted them to their YouTube channel a few weeks after the conference was over. I have no idea if they are going to do that again this year, but I hope so

Hey @jmunoz1 - Sorry I missed this one. Like Deactivated user said, I believe they just screen the Keynote and the general sessions. However, after the conference is over it takes a few weeks but they put all of the videos on their YouTube channel as well CanvasLMS - YouTube If you subscribe to the YouTube channel you will get an email notification when it's posted (that way you don't have to keep furiously checking for updates )

@mlewis23 I'm not certain of actual documentation regarding the points but I do know that when you're on your user profile if you click on your points you will then see a list to the left that supplies you with your rank, missions, badges and so fourth. When you click on each one of those areas you should see what task you need to accomplish to receive these points. There was a long discussion about this when Jive was first launched Re: Points! The other issue I had when I first started being "active" in the community was not seeing my badges. Luckly, @biray took care of that right away. If that happens to you follow these steps What if I didn't receive a badge that I should have?
