So, I am wondering, can you change the language of Canvas in the iPhone or Android app? I was hoping parents could do so - it would really help them with access to content. |

Hi Brandon- I usually just have the student go to the website directly in this case. Sometimes it is more of a pain than others. Students usually use "web canvas" for doing things other than directly turning a file in on their iPads....I do wish the iOS app was continually reliable!

Ugh. Parents being able to see grades (and announcements too) would be so helpful. I think Announcements can be turned "on" at an administrative level but so far I don't think that has happened for our observers. It makes it tough for parents when a lot of our agendas / info is in daily announcements.

Also, if students annotate, when they export it to another app- will the annotations be on the doc? Or, do they have to screenshot?

This is great! We are trying it out on iOS. The only caveat is there needs to be continual internet access to use it, right? Only bummer is - the default now for downloading documents is "current page" and not entire document. Can we change the default?

I understand that some don't take it late. I believe in learning for mastery so I do accept it late because they often revise it. It is a teaching philosophy.

I see that this could be helpful, but my students also know that they can resubmit after it is due. The reason is because I make comments and they can turn in an updated assignment. I love the comments section - and the potential for them to resubmit even after it is due!

I can only hope. The app has seemed to have more and more trouble for us when we add in web-links and such. Again, I like the UI better for the students but if the functionality is not there: what's the point? I currently have my students navigate from announcements to assignments and other sections. Sometimes they are waiting a long time for things to load. That's tough.

Is the iOS App being updated? We've had several issues with students being able to take quizzes or navigate through the app easily. However, I think it's more user friendly than the web version. If it is not functional though, it is a challenge. Some teacher are frustrated with the app, yet they know their students use it more.

Also, I just found out one student can only have ONE observer account. This is NOT good for students with multiple households (two parents - divorced, separated, etc.). They have to log in with the same observer account. It is not easy.

Josh, We've had parents logging in with students to see how they are doing, but not an easy high success of parent observers. Parents are having a rough time "figuring" it out. It hasn't helped that the views are (slightly) different depending on platform / mobile device. I'm working on making it slightly more of an ease of use next year, but the observer feature is something I need to still figure out better.
