@billingsley_l @MrNCMiller @lbasile @ashley_harvey @Nancy_Webb_CCSF @hannah_crowder @cgurysh @zoe_donaldson, @jtwalker, @jbrazil, Agree with all have previously posted - sorry I can mention only 10 users in a post. Four years have passed from the time the idea was first created. Instructors need the flexibilities to differentiate due dates in Assignments and Quizzes for a range of reasons: learning accommodations, time zone differences, and now rotation groups due to reduced classroom capacity in the COVID time. These students can't be categorized by Sections in the Student Info. System. The groups need to be formed by the instructor teaching the class. Please, please, please work on this ASAP. Faculty could use their time on more meaningful interactions with students versus clicking on "add" and "assign to" 20 times for each quiz and homework assignment throughout the semester.

I guess this would accommodate a wider range of essay question designs. Our LMS does not have New Quizzes so I can't test it. If the instructor is not forced to enter the additional criterion or if the added criterion is named "default" and can be deleted or replaced then it would not be confusing. In addition, the tool should allow each essay question to have its unique set of criteria (similar to the current rubric tool). Imagine there are three essay questions on the same case analysis and each has a different set of expectations.

I didn't know about the Chrome function, that's good to learn! I wanted to use the audio comment function - to record media and use the media format as the comment. Will the DocViewer keep it? Will the audio clips take course space? Can the audio comments be downloaded? Thanks.

I am eager to learn how the voice comment feature would work, or is it affected at all, looks like it is part of the Speedgrader rather than CrocDoc/DocViewer? Thanks!

From the research point of view, I'd like to see two more features added: - allows instructors to download the "review status" of all the voice and text comments in one assignment, and have that record sorted by student. This record will provide the foundation to compare if audio comments are more likely to be reviewed than text comments, and if the number of review times are correlated with future grades. Ideally, the details of "review status" should include when and how many times the comments were viewed or played. - increase default course space (or decrease the size of audio files) to accommodate audio comments so that the benefits of this feature can be optimized.

Just had a Canvas chat about the voice annotation feature. Here are more suggestions: 1. larger icons for the user; 2. allows "annotated recordings" through the submission, vs. being lumped together at the corner of the screen. 3. allows the "title" of each sound clip to be displayed, or by default, numbered, vs. having the same title "This is a media comment". This would be hard for students to tell which ones have been played. 4. allows instructor to see if an audio comment has been played. (such as color change etc.) **Perhaps for item 3 and 4, just make the play button a checkbox, visible to both prof. and student?** 5. allows the instructor to download all annotated submissions (with either audio or text-only annotations) at once. Professors can use this feature to track the progress of particular students or a whole class after a few assignments. Right now only text-annotated submissions can be downloaded by the instructor but it has to be done student by student. 6. allows the instructor to download all audio comments at once. This would allow researchers to conduct more analysis of effective audio comments using other software.

** Oct. 4, 2016 ** To be specific, the one element of this feature idea that was implemented was "question details" are available for Question Banks of up to 50 questions, with the correct answer indicator (1'32", ). In a quiz, question details are still limited to 25 questions.

Both. For the former, it's better for learning outcome assessment and integrating individual courses at the program curriculum level. For the latter, it keeps grading objective and efficient.

Thanks for asking! By "batch editing" I was hoping for the ability to edit many questions of the same type on one screen, as opposed to clicking on "edit" for every single question. These questions don't have to have the same point value, but it would be nicer if I can assign one "default point value" for "selected (select all) questions in the quiz." For example: an editor for creating # of MC questions. an editor for creating # of T/F questions. an editor for creating # of matching questions. etc. If a quiz contains 8 MC questions, 4 TF questions, and 3 matching questions, then I only need to edit on 3 screens, not 15. If a quiz has only 12 MC questions, then all can be done on one screen, not 12.

This idea really, really needs to be reconsidered. For instructors who are used to viewing all exam question details on paper, this will make them not want to migrate to Canvas. For instructors using question banks from the textbook, the 25 question limit is so easy to surpass. For programs where professors collaborate to build their own question banks, they need a much larger bank to share so that no questions are repeats for students.

🔎 This idea has been archived. While this idea isn't open for comments, it is an important part of Instructure’s idea conversations and development process. Contributions like this are valuable as Instructure prioritizes work on new or existing features.

I hope your major project is something like this, or better A table of content-like table that asks me to fill in: 1. the names of all the module in the course (i.e. I can copy and paste all 16 at once); 2. the names of the content pages, with the choice of deciding level of indentations (i.e. I can copy and paste in 8 module summary pages at once); And with a button "create course structure," I have a shell of the course. This would save numerous clicks on each item that needs to be duplicated.
