Is there a way to use two sorting orders at the same time to display a grade book?
I'd like to sort the columns first in the order of Assignment Groups and WITHIN each group, display the assignments in the order of earliest-to-latest due dates.
It appears that the Apply Filters option and the Gradebook Settings - View Options - Arrange By do not work simultaneously if multiple Assignment Groups are selected.
Yes manually drag-and-drop can make this happen but it's really difficult if there are many columns.

@quz2 Everything seems to be functioning properly when I test this situation. I think there may be a misunderstanding of how these features work. Apply Filters can be used to limit what shows to specific Assignment Groups, but it does not sort the assignments by the chosen assignment groups. When selecting multiple Assignment Groups and using a sorting option, it does filter to just the assignments in those groups and then sorts those remaining assignments as selected.

I'd like to display all Assignment Groups and sort within each group according to due dates. Is this possible other than manually dragging the columns across the screen? Thanks.
I do not believe this is possible.
This is sort of (well, really) ridiculous. My individual assignments within a single group are spread out into columns miles apart from each other, and I need all assignments within each group next to each other. So simple, but the only way to do it is to manually move individual columns one-by-one. Can't do it by due date since the dates are not clustered. The assignments are already correctly clustered and arranged in my Assignments tab, so why can't the gradebook simply replicate that?
