When students click in the website URL box, a dropdown menu appears of all previous website submissions. As much as I try to stress to my elementary students that they need to ignore that menu and paste their new link, I still have kids who regularly select one of those drop down options, thereby submitting the incorrect assignment (and in many cases losing the work that they had done). I understand the value of having previous entries appear in many other areas, but in this particular case, it seems to be confusing instead of helpful. Is it possible to turn off this feature for the Website URL submission field?

I whole-heartedly agree with all this! My district just changed our schedule, so I need to go back and, one-by-one, edit each of the meetings that I already entered. It's definitely NOT the best use of my time at the moment. An option to "edit/delete this and all future events" similar to Google Calendar would be extremely helpful.

Creating a new question because a related one was marked as solved, when I don't think it was: Is there going to be an update where we can edit or delete recurring events all at once? For example, in my Google calendar, when I make a change to a recurring event, it asks me if I want to change it just for that meeting or for all of them. In Canvas, however, it seems that each event needs to be edited individually once it's added to the calendar. Since my district just changed our schedule, I need to go back and, one-by-one, edit each of the meetings that I already entered. It's a bit of a pain and definitely not the best use of my time at the moment.

That's very helpful, and I will look into that further. Thank you! I guess part of the concern right now, though, is that students and parents really want to have a one-stop place where they can see what they still need to do, since at the moment, they have 7+ courses to try to juggle. The calendar seems like the most logical place for that to happen, but it's not as easy to access the actual lessons from that spot, as only the assignments show up.

It would be very helpful if there was a way to assign modules or pages to the Canvas calendar/to do list instead of just assignments. The way it's set up right now, it's very easy, and even intuitive, for kids to click on and complete (or at least try to complete) the assignment without ever looking at the accompanying lesson page.

It would be helpful if I could access student view without having to navigate to the home page and then back to whatever page I had been on. I was trying to make a screencast tutorial in student view, then realized I couldn't access the assignment because I hadn't published it yet, so I had to exit student view, go to my assignments page to publish it, go back to my home page so I could get back into student view, and then go back to the assignment page to begin the tutorial. Unfortunately, the screencast program lost my first video, so I had to record again and go through the same process because apparently I didn't learn my lesson the first time. I was teaching a summer course using Moodle, and there they had a "Switch role to..." option under my account dropdown menu in the upper righthand corner of the screen, no matter which page I was on. I found that to be MUCH more convenient. I could check, fix, and check again all without having to hop around within the course.
