To better support student-led discussions, and discussions led by individuals with a student-based role, Canvas should add the ability to post/participate in Group discussions for a group the individual may not be assigned to. We created a 'Coach' role based on the student role to streamline the user experience for these individuals (the TA role still sees all hidden course navigation items). While we can give them the Groups - view all student groups permission, they cannot participate in any of the discussions in the group areas except for a single group to which they may be assigned. This could also likely be solved by allowing individuals to be assigned to multiple student groups within the same Group Set, but that presents other issues.
Please consider adding the ability to post/participate in ANY Group discussions to the Discussions - moderate permission.

I love that the button is there in speedgrader, for group assignments as well, but there seem to be lingering inconsistencies: On the course homepage, the feedback given (required before you can reassign) shows a green checkmark --- obviously inconsistent with the message.
But maybe the bigger issue is that when the student navigates to the assignment itself there are NO indications that a resubmission is required...

Clicking the five stars to upvote an idea is NOT intuitive on canvas community. A lot of new users go directly to the comments section to beg for a feature without even noticing that they could upvote it! There needs to be a 100% CLEAR call to action here if you want any validity in your decisions to work on certain feature requests based on the number of votes. Look at this example: Only 9 votes and 127 comments...

Agreed! This is a basic function for any LONG-TERM discussion. The existing feature works for discussions with one required canned response, but if we want to promote deep learning with lots of engaging discussions between students diving deep on the same topic over time, the current functionality just doesn't cut it. Honestly, this seems like SUCH an easy fix. -- And with 125 + comments it's a bit unnerving nothing has been done in the last 5+ YEARS...

I'd love to see this feature too! My use case is building weekly intro pages to start weekly modules -- reducing the number of clicks and making the experience more seamless. I could build the whole intro in a Discussion, but I'd kinda like to have different content for each week, but be able to drive learners toward the same discussion. Being able to pin replys would be an added bonus.

Thanks @Shar! That worked in desktop and mobile! Although the preview image of the video did not load on mobile, it still displayed the play button and played the video just fine. Yes, it is an FAQ page and should be constant when we duplicate the course. I really appreciate your time and insights!

Using your code adjusting the data-media-id worked (m-65j3H4tZuFcGyhqFmu7XNa4qZH1ifswA), however the video shows up as a small thumbnail and then expands to almost the entire screen when clicked. I noticed the media player is also different. I probably need to play with the style to figure out the sizing issues, but this is definitely a good workaround if there really is no way for the iframe to be active under the details tag. Yes, I'm using the New RCE and added previously recorded course media via the dropdown menu pictured. I've been using the details tag thanks to your insight @Shar! However, when I insert course media it doesn't show after saving... You mentioned videos worked in your description, so any advice would be awesome. Do I need to be in the html editor rather than the RCE when inserting the iframe for some reason?

A separate option that is NOT the same, would be a multi-select operation to copy/delete learning objects in the Modules Index.

This feature becomes more obviously needed if you ever use the Duplicate module option, which creates a copy of each learning object inside -- but you can't do the opposite: deleting the module AND its contents.

I agree that this is an important feature for deep learning. I'd love to see it applied to quizzes as well -- depending on meeting a threshold score/percentage learners are automatically required to try again.
