I use new quizzes. I don't want to hide the grade because my students like to know what they got on the computer-graded portion when they are done. It's nice for them to have that immediate feedback...

When the instructor still needs to grade essay portions of a test it would be nice for students to just to see the submitted symbol, not the comp...
Yes!! I don't even use the matching question because it's all or nothing.
