Comments from Instructure
As part of the new Ideas & Themes process, all ideas in Idea Conversations were reviewed by the Product Team. Any Idea that was associated with an identified theme was moved to the new Idea & Themes space. Any Idea that was not part of the move is being marked as Archived. This will preserve the history of the conversations while also letting Community members know that Instructure will not explore the request at this time.

Thanks @Stef_retired,
I assumed that the 'edit' 'timeline' web interface was yours.

User story: As an instructor using Canvas and Kaltura video I need a fast method of adding of chapter markers to my videos.
Feature request: Please provide an option to upload Kaltura video chapter markers from a simple CSV text file. This would be a time saving alternative rather than clicking through the web interface.
e.g.

Percentages have two advantages for me:
1. Rubrics can be re-used where the weighting of a task changes.
2. When marking it is much easier to think in terms of percentage rather than having to do the mental arithmetic to convert points to percent and associated letter grade.
Needless to say, Blackboard has both options.
Thanks, Ian

I've just made instruction for students to help them find the feedback. Feedback is a key tool for learning. This is meant to be a learning management system, we should make it easy for them, not hard. There is a micro-font version of the general comments under the submission, I suggest you add a button right there to see detailed feedback, then programmatically work out if the feedback is in the rubric or the text and build a page that shows any single or all three sources if present.
Here's the overly-complicated instructions for my students:
Select your assessment from the list of assessments.
Click Submission Details
3. Click the teeny-tiny View Feedback link
4. Look, there's feedback in the text and a general summary.
5. Make a note of the things you need to practice to improve next time.

@dan_baeckstrom that's exactly what I am after! Great work. Unfortunately, it is difficult enough to get students to look at the canvas site without asking them to install a browser extension.
Thanks for this link Dan, let's hope the developers are reading this.

Modules could be more visually organised if indented pages could be collapsed in the same way the module can be collapsed.
I tried H5P accordions within a page but these do not support images.
Feature description: Add a clickable triangle next to the parent page to reveal indented pages below. Click the triangle again to collapse indented child pages.
Thanks for listening, Ian

Yes please - how do I vote for this feature request.
I support the request for a consolidated view of feedback text made highly visible to the student, plus a big link to in-ext comments if present.

Here's my contribution to the discussion. You would need to be able to code in Python and use the command line to make any use of this:

I would like to be able to upload a CSV file with grades and text comments in the gradebook. This works well in Blackboard and is essential for small weekly formative tasks. The SpeedGrader is SLOW compared to simple CSV upload.
