New to Canvas. I am sorry if this was answered somewhere already.
Desire: Email multiple students that have either yet to login or are otherwise unengaged - all at once. (similar to how you can do it in gradebook on a missing assignment or no submission).
Example: New course and I want to bump / prod / nag with occasional email to engage. I have to do this one by one or so it seems. Time consuming.
At a minimum it would be nice to just click their name. Better, would be a email all students who have not been online or otherwise active with some easy on click function - bam.
Doable?
Thank you for your help!

Hi there @bmccarthy1 Welcome to the Community.
Would the How do I send a message to all course users in Conversations as an instructor? guide help? You can definitely send messages to multiple students at one time if you do it from your inbox rather than the course.
The only fuss here is navigating those who have or have not participated. That's more of a retention tool requirement, which you may be able to find in an outside vendor (such as Alliance Partner - AspirEDU and Alliance Partner - Nuro Retention) which allow you to contact from their dashboards.
Hope this helps! Feel free to clarify anything if it didn't hit what you were aiming for.
Your comment that "At a minimum it would be nice to just click their name" reminded me that there's a relatively new feature called Student Context Cards. It is currently optional, so if you don't see the functionality described in the guide, talk to your Canvas administrator. It won't give you the option to message multiple students at once, but it would streamline the process a little because:
Thank you for reaching out. I use that function. I'm sure we'll get there. Even on that score, it would be nice to just use the grade book in a sort mode, say like on scores, and be able to email that way or drag and drop.
We have a wonderful community here, thanks for the assist!

Hey @bmccarthy1 ,
You can actually message students from gradebook, does this help? https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-9996-415255001
Hello there, @bmccarthy1 ...
I was looking at some older discussion topics, and I saw that there hasn't been any new activity in this one for over two months, so I wanted to check in with you. It looks like you've received some good feedback from Deactivated user and @tdelillo . Have you had an opportunity to review all their feedback? Was there a response (above) that helped to answer your question? Or, are there still any outstanding questions that you still have for members of the Canvas Community related to your initial posting? If you feel that one of the above responses has helped to answer your question, please go ahead and mark it as "Correct". However, if you're still looking for some assistance, please post a message below so that Community members can continue to help you out. For now, I'm going to mark your question as "Assumed Answered" because there hasn't been any new activity in this thread for quite a while. I hope that's alright with you, Barry. Looking forward to hearing back from you soon!
Here's what I want:
New Analystics>Students>Sort by Page Views > click check box for students who meet desired criteria > click "Message selected students".
OR
New Analytics>Message Students Who > "Page Views less than x"
Simple...
