Here is yet another useful idea that was posed 7 years ago and nothing has been done about it. I know that Canvas can only do a finite number of things, but surely this is something that would be more useful than a new discussions platform, icons, and emojis.

@dlyons we spoke about this about a month ago, and I'm so excited to see updates! In regard to your example, where are you getting the 4.5:1 ratio for the first image (the light gray on dark gray)? When I ran the same colors using the Web Aim Contrast Checker, I received a result of 3.67:1:

Lack of a rich content editor is causing massive accessibility issues with messages sent through Canvas. One of the biggest is that we aren't able to correctly format a link, so any student using an assistive device to scan content will have links read to them incorrectly. Additionally, without the ability to bold or italicize text, the only emphasis option we have is to write words in all caps, which also goes against accessibility guidelines.

I wish I could "5-star" this on behalf of every single instructor in our college! This is one of our more common "How do I?" questions and is always a huge letdown when we tell them that they have to individually type in names.
@tori_sifantonak I think this would be a great workaround for the issue I emailed you regarding a non-cumbersome way to give students assignment options. An instructor could assign the options to different groups, and then set the groups as self-signup (there would be cases of students not making a choice - in that instance, the instructor can just drag all of them into one of the groups and give them a 0). It wouldn't solve all assignment choice options, but would just give another workaround option for cases in which mastery paths wasn't the best choice.

This originally appeared as a question in 2016. How has this not been resolved by 2022?

I am about to go through the feature request and star every single suggestion I see with this! Novice Cavnas users don't understand the difference between "remove" and "delete" which causes a lot of student confusion.

@LauraRogers5 You can modify the alignment of text within a cell - it's just hidden in a formatting menu.
Select the cells in which you would like to realign the text (when you click and drag, they'll turn a dark color to show they're selected)
Above the RCE are the menu options for Edit, View, Insert, etc. From that row, select "Table"
Select "Cell" then "Cell properties"
The last option under "cell properties" is vertical align, which I think is what you're after

@James thank you. I think I have done so? I clicked on the 5th star, but the interface didn't give me any feedback as to whether or not my click was submitted. If Canvas has control over this software, it may be helpful for the stars to stay gold once we've made our selection or for there to be a little message that says "feedback submitted."
It did occur to me to click the "50" next to the stars to see if my name was listed, but that was a little cumbersome and was not entirely intuitive. Additionally, the star-rating system is a little vague. Perhaps, in addition to some type of feedback when stars are registered, there can be a little message above the stars stating, "use the rating system to show support for this feature idea"

Also, I literally do not see a way to upvote this idea. The only thing I can do is give it stars. There are no thumbs up/down buttons.

Yes! This was written in 2015. It's 2022 and this is still an issue! I know that Canvas is redesigning and adding features, but these little minor details are what make the big difference.

It's 2022! This is still an issue!
The import CSV workaround isn't that must of a "fix." The instructor still has to create the group set, still has to rename the group set, and then has to import the CSV file. The CSV file will only work for that individual group set, which is not all that convenient for instructors who use multiple group sets in a course. This whole procedure takes just as much time as manually adding groups each semester.

It is the end of 2021 and this is still an issue!
Why are pages linked using their name and not a unique page number that remains the same even if a page is renamed? That would really help us with a lot of our troubleshooting issues at the institution level.

Several commands are repeated within the RCE and the Edit/View/Insert/Format/etc menus; streamlining these may be a solution to decluttering the RCE? With the accessibility concerns, is an assistive device better able to navigate the Edit/View/Insert/etc menus?
Otherwise, is it within the realm of possibilities to allow users to customize their own RCE's? That would allow for fewer commands and larger buttons for faculty who may need them, but still keep the option of having all of the commands there for faculty who may need them?

With New Analytics, teachers can view the number of students who visited a page/item (as well as a total number of visits). They can also select a student to see the specific pages/items that student has viewed.
Is there a way to flip this around: is there a way to view a list of student names who have viewed a specific page/item? (For instance, in the weekly activity list, select the page/item to see a list of student names who have viewed the item?)
