How can you make a file open full screen in canvas rather than in a preview panel? I know you can download it then open it full screen but want it to just open full screen for my early ch... |

would be nice to have it easily embed in canvas but in the interim I screen shot the jam board and put that in as image for little ones to see and click on and I link it to the jam board behind the scenes.

In my situation I would like folders NOT because I want students to have to see them, indeed I would keep them hidden as I teach young students ( 4 years +) who would certainly not cope with searching through folders BUT as the designer/teacher I have a LOT of pages, to find them I have to scroll down through many,many pages waiting for each group to load which wastes a lot of my time. I tend not to use modules much as my course is choice based, the linear structure of the module doesn't suit how it operates , I build my own simple navigation for my students. I quite agree that folders are not a great option for students so your list and indent comment works fine there but there is a quite different issue, with teachers/designers with lots of pages wanting something better than a flat list without a search facility to optimise their own organisation within a course.

I too would like a folder system to file and organise materials, when you have a long (and growing...)list of pages or assignments it takes ages for them to load, as people have already said they load in batches and you have to sit and wait for the next batch..and the next..time that could be better spent elsewhere. I quite understand how the module system works in Higher Education BUT Canvas is also used with young students, some of mine are 4 and 5 years old. I do not want them scrolling through modules I want them to follow my simple navigation structures. In my situation folders would be very, very handy, not for students working independently, for me to organise efficiently behind the scenes. .

Yes this is exactly what I am finding, images are correct,in correct spots, linked correctly, still vanish sometimes then reappear later. ..

Helpful if the images are actually missing or the file path is wrong, but there is a repeated issue with images that are in correct spot not showing , then reappearing later with no changes made. I've encouraged some of my students to refresh multiple times eg using F5 and this sometimes gets the missing images.

yes couldn't agree more, some of my(distance) students are 5 years old! I can't ask them to clear caches.....issue needs fixing by canvas so its not students having missing images when those images are actually sitting there in correct spots linked or embedded correctly in the course.

Some of my students are very young, 4 and 5 years of age, I don't want them to get a preview panel at all because the scrolling is quite confusing for early readers when part of your text disappears, same with toggling to new tab, is confusing which is why I just wanted an auto open full page feature. For older students and adult learners it is fine to preview then use download link if wanted, not so for little ones. I will pursue the google docs embed option but have a few copyright concerns here as some of my stuff is available with limited copyright, worried about putting it up with public access..

Yes couldn't agree more I'm working with young learners also, my tasks aren't in a linear sequence so modules not all that useful, uploading files not good either as opens in preview not ok for early readers , meaning building in pages but very messy with no filing system .
