On the 2 year anniversary of this post, I'd like to say that this really needs some attention. Here I am waiting for my Item Analysis to update after grading a quiz for 20 students and who knows when it will be done.  The processing power to update the statistics should be minimal given today's technology standards.  I'm really hoping I don't have to come back and make another post on the 3 year anniversary of this issue.  ... Seven years now!  My university chose to adopt Canvas over our previous Desire2Learn.  I had a matching question in D2L with images for the matches.  Canvas has no option and I think it is pretty absurd that 1) this was brought to the attention of Canvas 7 years ago (that's a long time!) and 2) clearly there are programmers/developers out there who can make matching questions with images since D2L has the technology.  Now I have a very large question for an exam this week that I'm going to somehow have to redesign because of lacking technology.  ... First semester Canvas user here and running into trouble recreating quizzes in Canvas like I used to be able to do in D2L because of lacking features like this one.  Six years to get this implemented and still nothing.  Maybe we can hope for it to be implemented within a decade after its suggestion. 2026, please come soon! ... First semester using Canvas and I'm no longer surprised when, yet again, Canvas can't do something fundamental and basic.  I've seen this request go back at least 2 years where the reply was "this was a priority."  Pretty unbelievable I can't download the results of a quiz.  Desire2Learn, our previous LMS, could do this.  I'm really regretting that my university chose to go with Canvas.  It would actually be an excellent platform if someone would actually develop it in a timely manner.  How you go from "old quizzes" that could do this to "new quizzes" where the function is removed is mind-boggling to me.  ... @Chris_Hofer I appreciate your positive outlook on this but I feel that Canvas simply needs to do a better job at implementing these features that are a part of their competitors' products and that have been brought to the attention of Canvas Instructure many years ago.  They either need to hire 1) more staff and/or 2) more qualified staff to improve their product.  At this point in time, all I know is that I feel it was a mistake for my university to switch to Canvas from D2L given the lack of basic functionality that I have been used to for many years with D2L.  If several years is not enough to implement basic functionality then what is?  A decade?  Two decades?  Time for Canvas up their game and start listening to the users.  I for one actually want Canvas to be an awesome LMS.  I wish the Instructure team had some more motivation to feel the same! ... @HosseinTavana  I'm glad I'm not stranded in this boat alone!  Thanks for that witty comment that brought a smile to face!  I'm definitely not sure why Canvas is missing so much basic functionality that, from what I can gather from the dates at which these lacking features have been brought to the attention of Canvas, have been known to them for many years and in one case, 6 years (not able to release specific content in modules at a certain date).  I'm sure the development of an LMS is complicated but it's not like many of these features are new to the world of LMS.  They are in fact features found in their competitors' products.  Canvas needs to assess the number and quality of staff they have in their development group if they can't keep up with the needs of their users.  I for one will continue to emphasize to my university that Canvas is sadly an inferior product to D2L based on my first impressions.   I honestly want Canvas to be awesome and I wish the people at Canvas had some similar level of passion! ... Agreed. Our university is moving to Canvas from D2L and I'm finding Canvas has greatly reduced capacity compared to what I could do in D2L and I'm very quickly becoming disappointed on many fronts. Unbelievable I can't time the release of individual pages! Oh, and this is over 2 years later and apparently you still can't do it! ... View more

I visited the link you provided and what's most telling about that link is that the feature request for dates was submitted almost 3 years and 17 days ago with the feature still not being implemented. Pretty sad Canvas developers aren't listening to their users. My campus is transitioning from D2L to Canvas and I was stunned the ability to do this is not a feature of Canvas (it has been for many years in D2L).  This is going to add a lot of manual work for me that is unnecessary.   Also, I see that this request was made on 7/26/2019.  That's 3 years and nearly 17 days where Canvas still has not implemented this feature.  This and other difficulties making the transition from D2L has made me have a negative perception of Canvas thus far.  The most important being that they seem to ignore the needs of their users such as in this case.   ... I am trying to do this as well and agree that the article posted did NOT answer the original poster's question.  As of now, it appears I cannot selectively choose a date for when students can view questions and answers.  If this is indeed a missing option, it needs to be reconsidered as this is a major hindrance in my ability to facilitate my online courses.  ... I am new to Canvas and found this thread because I too cannot add the syllabus to a module.  I am creating a preparatory module and I would like my students to logically proceed through the module one page at a time.  Part of this sequence includes reading the syllabus.  Why a syllabus created with the syllabus feature in Canvas is inaccessible in the modules really surprises me (why isn't it just a page in the file structure like all other pages?).  Students will therefore have to click out of the module, read the syllabus, and then find their way back to the module.  Should they be able to do this?  Sure.  Is making this process more difficult than it has to be support student learning .... no, it doesn't.  Please add this feature Canvas.  ...
