Problem statement: When a teacher is building a course that has grading periods, once they start the last quarter of the year they will see ALL the assignments that they have created but not yet established due dates and they will appear in the gradebook. Is there a way to make it so it will not show up in the gradebook unless there is a due date that falls in the last quarter? And when they select the Grading period from the drop down in assignments it will only appear in the last grading period if it has a due date in the last grading period? Proposed solution: I believe the unpublished assignments with no due dates should only appear when the teacher selects "All grading periods" or a new drop-down choice that states No Due Date. In Florida, we have the Parents Bill of Rights which if this passes, it would be helpful if we could give access to certain pages based on the section a person is enrolled in. We oftentimes create links to Copyrighted material and not all our Charter Schools and Parents will have access to these portions of the course. We would love to see this option "outside of Mastery Paths."

Currently, when we sync assignments from Canvas to Focus, our SIS, the directions from Canvas follow with the sync. We love this feature, but some of our teachers would like to have the option to SYNC or NOT SYNC the directions.

To expand on the idea of QR Codes for students to create for themselves to log in to the Canvas Student App, Our K-2 teachers would love to have a page where they could go to print out a class set of QR codes for each of their students to have posted on their desk to use on a daily basis throughout the school year.

I believe that teachers should be able to have end dates on Annoucements as we do in Global Announcements as an Admin

In our school district we have been utilizing the TCC (thin common cartridges) for each of the textbooks. Teachers load these entire textbooks into their course and when they go to the gradebook, because there are so many "unpublished" assignments from the TCC, their gradebook never loads unless they click on the view and unselect the unpublished assignments. We would like the gradebook to default to only show published assignments.

A person shared their course on Canvas Commons and when I imported the course into my empty shell it came over with all their announcements. Is there a way to import the content without all the announcements?

James- Yes! I envisioned a bulk table with the checkbox next to each assignment, page, and quiz and then next to each of these a drop-down as what they are required to do (submit, view, and mark done....etc...)

Our K-12 students in Volusia County, Florida, would greatly benefit from having the Immersive reader to be in New Quizzes for a more UDL design!

When creating modules for a K-5 environment or even a UDL design of a module it is best practice for a designer to chunk the data into small amounts of data on each "page" of the module. Also, a UDL design would be to allow students to visually see what items they have completed and which items they still need to complete so the requirement feature in Canvas is AMAZING! However, having to use a drop-down each time we want to add a page to the requirement is very tedious work. I suggest that this feature becomes a checkbox where you would see all the items in the module at one time and then the designer could put a check next to the pages they want as a requirement.

As admin for Canvas and Nearpod when we are testing out the Nearpod integration Nearpod lesson would not open on my administrators Canvasv course. However, when we troubleshoot with other admins for only "Nearpod" they were able to view the Nearpod lesson within Canvas...

Yes. I don't want to have to create the discussion for every section that it is assigned to. I want to be able to create it "once" for that course.

This idea has been developed and deployed to Canvas I think that when a teacher creates a discussion for a course they should have the option for students to only view the replies for their particular section. Comments from Instructure For more information, please read through the https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-14759 . Note, this is for ungraded Discussions. Section assignment of graded discussions is handled through differentiating the assignment.
