My name is Rosalita Santiago and I am currently the Instructional Technology Coordinator at an immersion school in Arlington, Virginia. I’ve been teaching for 13+ years. I started my career as an ESL teacher in 2003 in Loudoun County, VA. In addition, I was also an Adult ESL teacher for three years. I took a break to explore other career opportunities and worked as a patient liaison for the NIH. I also translated many of their publications before returning to education as a dual language instructor at the elementary level. I consider myself an advocate for language and STEAM learning for all students. I believe that language plays a role in STEAM and allowing all students to engage in cross-disciplinary studies addresses students' individual differences and helps to develop important transferable skills.
