I serve as the district K-12 Instructional Technology Coordinator for Jackson County Schools, Georgia. My role includes serving as the primary Canvas administrator for the district--both technical and instructional-- as well as the coordinating district professional learning, administering our single sign-on system, Clever, our staff and students portals, managing of all our district-purchased instructional and digital resources, and encouraging the effective and appropriate integration of #edtech in all our classroom.
I am a (proud!) Canvas Edvocate, a Google Certified Innovator, Google for Education Trainer, Clever Certified Admin, Pear Deck Certified Coach, Seesaw Ambassador, Common Sense Certified Educator, and an Applied Digital Skills Trainer.
I am a 2014 ISTE Emerging Leader and the 2014 Foreign Language Teacher of the Year for the state of Georgia. I am also the founder and co-leader for the Georgia Google Educator Group (GEG Georgia), and I have founded and organized approximately 7 EdCamps throughout North Georgia.
In my career thus far, I have used and/or managed most all of the big Learning Management Systems in K-12, most notably D2L/Brightspace, Haiku Learning, Blackboard, Moodle, and now Canvas. After all that experience and exposure, I am unbiased when I say that Canvas is THE best K-12 LMS available, and I am thrilled to be working in a Canvas district!
