Hello @CarolynRundell Thank you for posting in the Community! The Canvas Student ePortfolio does not get cleared out or deleted at any time, so you do have the ability of adding to your Profile as you gain experience and education. The account does need to be accessible after you graduate however, so we usually recommend students adding a personal email on file, in order to make sure they are able to access after graduation. Here is a guide for adding additional emails to your account: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-edit-my-email-address-in-Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/ta-p/1375 Please let us know if you are having any further questions about this, and if you are trying to gain access into a previous account, our support team would be glad to help. Hello @carlestfam Thank you for posting in the Community! While this topic is best suited for other users of the platform to create a Discussion about the use of the platform, I can give you a basic overview of the system. The Canvas Student ePortfolio system is best suited to give students or teachers a profile to showcase their educational experience and work throughout their educational careers in order to better prepare them for the future. This system can also be used to give employers a curated portfolio of your actual work that has been done while in schooling or at previous positions of employment. Here is a guide that covers the basics: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/What-is-Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/ta-p/1358
We hope this helps! Please let us know if you are having further questions about this and we would be happy to help.

Hello @AdonicaMullings
Thank you for posting in the Community!
I believe you could be asking about our Legacy ePortfolios, which is slightly different than Canvas Student ePortfolios through Portfolium.

@RachelSalmon Thanks so much for posting in the Community. Currently the Job search function does pull from ziprecruiter.com. Yes, this feed is outdated as we work to improve the current features of Canvas Student ePortfolios, and better serve the needs of students and teachers using the platform.
If you think that the job search function should be improved instead of removed, I would suggest posting your suggestion to our Ideas and Themes area of the community: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Ideas/idb-p/canvas-ideas?sort=&status=new&label=

Hello @yotebrarian
Thank you for posting in the Community!
I think your idea sounds like a great way to familiarizing learners with Portfolium or as it is now known, Canvas Student ePortfolios, and let me know what ways that you have done this as it would be a great resource for other Community members searching this same topic.
In your provided approach, I would be glad to clarify with the guides that we would have for these processes:
An activity where learners claim their Portfolium(Canvas Student ePortfolio), perform 2-3 basic tasks in Portfolium, and then submit the Portfolium link in the assignment within Canvas. The act of claiming would be signing up for a free account inside Canvas Student ePortfolios. Here is a guide for students for signing up for a free account: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-sign-up-for-a-Canvas-Student-ePortfolios-account/ta-p/1406 If users have the Folio LTI installed in Canvas, they should be able to access their account through the Folio LTI. If they create an account through the Folio LTI, it should be creating an account with their Canvas email. Once they have an account in Canvas Student ePortfolios, we want to have them connect their Canvas account to the Canvas Student ePortfolio account in their account settings. Here is a guide for that: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-connect-Canvas-to-my-Canvas-Student-ePortfolios-account/ta-p/1357 Once they have connected their Canvas account, they should be able to import assignments from Canvas (guide) https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-import-assignments-from-Canvas/ta-p/1356 The basic tasks they could perform would be adding things to their profile to give it more depth. Here are some guides for adding things to our profile: Edit Overview Information: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-edit-my-overview-information-in-my-profile/ta-p/1419 Add an Introduction: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-add-an-introduction-to-my-profile/ta-p/1411 Add Courses to my Profile: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-add-courses-to-my-profile/ta-p/1415 Submitting their profile link would be done by visiting their profile, and copying the link they see there or by sharing their private profile link if they have their profile set to be private. Viewing Profile guide: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-view-my-profile/ta-p/1412 Student accounts are created as private by default, so if we are having them share their profile, we want to have them check their privacy settings to enable other users to view their profile, or share the private profile link. We can have them check their privacy settings by following these steps: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-change-my-privacy-settings-in-Canvas-Student/ta-p/1369
A document upload activity where learners create a Word document (i.e. use a Word resume template, fill in some basic information, and save) and then upload the document to Portfolium through Canvas. (The only way I can find to make this happen involves Assessment Activities in Portfolium.) This document upload could be done with a file submission type assignment in Canvas. However to be able to have them submit to their Portfolium account through Canvas would require the Course Assessment feature and linking the Course Assessment to your Canvas Course. Guide: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Portfolium-Resource-Documents/Portfolium-Assessment-Linking-Courses-and-Assignments-to-Canvas/ta-p/387186 We have had institutions do this without using Assessments by way of public projects. The student can submit the project URL to an assignment with a URL submission type assignment in Canvas. For this submitted project to be visible to the teacher, it needs to be made public however, so we want to clarify that to students when creating the project to submit in Canvas for a teacher to see. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-ePortfolios/How-do-I-change-the-privacy-settings-on-my-Projects/ta-p/1407 We would appreciate if you could share any questions or comments about any of these processes and we would be glad to answer any questions about these as well!

Hello @ErkikJoseph
Thanks for posting in the Community!
I understand that you were wondering about updating the URL link in privacy settings.
If you are wondering about the private share link under the option to only allow connections to view profile-" You can still share your private profile with professors, employers, or anyone else by providing the public share link below. Remember, anyone with the link can view your profile." This link is automatically generated and is not able to be edited. However, you can update your profile URL inside your user settings. That would be under https://portfolium.com/settings/profile
Here is a reference for updating your privacy settings as well:

Hello @straussi Thanks so much for posting in the Community! This is a great place for discussion among Community members, however it looks like this would be a good idea for a feature as these are additional functions not present right now.
I would suggest creating a new idea here: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Ideas/idb-p/canvas-ideas
That would be the best place for these features to gain momentum in the Community and we appreciate the ideas in order to better improve Program Assessments within Canvas Student ePortfolios.

Hello @AnnaBranford Thanks so much for posting in the Community. I understand that you are wondering about a way to setup a way where students can record written responses to a series of questions, and can then revisit over time to change and add to their responses. In Course Assessments in Canvas Student ePortfolios, you can request revisions to student submissions in order to have them resubmit a series of questions so this could be an option. Here is a reference for requesting those revisions when scoring a submission in a Course Assessment: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Student-Pathways/How-do-I-score-an-assignment-in-a-course-in-Portfolium-Course/ta-p/1431 I would suggest requesting revisions for those students that you wanted to have record different responses from what they had recorded originally.
I hope this helps, but please let me know if you would like to have something setup differently or if there are any limitations in this regard.

Hello geir_j_voldmo
Thank you for posting in the community. Currently the Portfolium product has been rebranded under Canvas Student ePortfolios. So, to answer your question, they are now one in the same. We are still working on updating the documentation to reflect this change, so you still might see the Portfolium moniker in some places. I hope this helps clarify things as we work to more fully integrate Canvas Student ePortfolios into the Canvas family of products. Hello @JoshuaBelland We can share Item Banks within New Quizzes, however this is limited to your institutions Canvas instance. If you are trying to share your Item Banks to a new account in a new Canvas instance, I would recommend sharing your Course to Commons. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Commons/How-do-I-share-a-course-to-Commons/ta-p/1793 When shared to Commons, we can then import into your new instance and your Item Banks should come across when imported. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Commons/How-do-I-import-and-view-a-Commons-resource-in-Canvas/ta-p/1808 There was a thread about this I was seeing in the Community as well: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Question-Forum/How-do-I-share-a-quot-New-Quizzes-quot-quiz-to-the-Commons/m-p/223763 If you are seeing difficulty sharing between instances, Canvas support would be able to help as New Quizzes should be able to function when shared over Commons, and we would be glad to answer any questions about that process.

I reached out to our team about this, and we were seeing with Avatars, we have to whitelist domains if we are trying to upload a URL into our profile picture. If you file a support ticket with Canvas Support, we should be able to make sure we are making the correct API call, and are able to whitelist any domains needed to be able to upload a file via API into the profile pictures folder. Please open a support ticket and we should be able to help with that. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Basics-Guide/How-do-I-contact-Canvas-Support/ta-p/389767

Hello @Heman Thanks for reaching out in the Community! I was trying to make the same API call you were, and trying to POST an image stored in Gravatar to upload to my user files. I was able to see Postman return a progress url indicating there was an upload triggered, but I was not able to see the file coming across into my user files area. Other community members might see what is wrong and be able to correct this, however, I would suggest reaaching out to our Canvas support team as they should be able to investigate further about how best to do this. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Basics-Guide/How-do-I-contact-Canvas-Support/ta-p/389767 Hope this helps!

Hello @j_urwin Thanks for reaching out to the Community! I understand you are wondering about assignments not showing up in the filter option when running a Missing Assignments report in New Analytics. This filter should be able to filter all assignments that students are marked missing for and should not be dependent on having a singular assign to box. If you are not seeing assignments showing up inside that filter and the students were recently marked as Missing, I would suggest waiting 24 hours for the New Analytics to update. If you are not seeing the ability to filter the Missing Assignments report by an assignment after 24 hours however, I would suggest reaching out to Canvas support to look into that further. Hope this helps!

Hello @JosephJeffers Thanks for reaching out in the Community regarding your Moodle quiz question banks and transferring those to Canvas. You were reporting having some issues with the pictures contained within the questions either not coming through, or in the wrong questions. Usually with images not coming across we want to check how the images were embedded within the questions. We would possibly try to re-export the file from Moodle and try re-importing into the Canvas Course. I am seeing that there is a possible workaround if the Moodle Question Banks were converted to QTI (with Respondus 4.0) and then imported into Canvas as a QTI file. I am wondering would this be a viable option? if we are seeing issues with Moodle exports, Moodle support would be a good option to reach out and ask if they have a workaround as well. If we have an open ticket with Moodle, Canvas support can communicate with them through that internal ticket to see about any possible resolutions. Hope this helps!

Hello @patelp3
Thanks for posting in the Community.
To echo what @nwilson7 has said, the Availability From and Until will set when the students can access the quiz and start taking the quiz. What options can I set in a quiz?
If the students have a timed quiz, the quiz will be submitted at the end of that timeframe, or when the available until date has passed. Whichever is first. So we want to make sure students are given enough time to start the quiz and take the quiz in full if they are being given a timed quiz with an 'available until' date set.

Hello @MyLoVoid
Thanks for posting in the Community.
The option you are selecting to 'overwrite the assessment content with matching IDs' to clarify further from our guide:
"Some systems recycle their IDs for each new export. Therefore, if you export two separate question banks they will have the same IDs. To prevent losing assessment data Canvas treats the question banks as separate objects despite the IDs. Choosing this option will disable this safety feature and allow assessment data to overwrite existing data with the same IDs."
So it sounds like that is what you want, however I have not heard of this being able to be done via QTI import because upon importing a quiz using that import type a quiz will be created and the previous quiz will remain, and will not be overwritten with new data. Unless you import a second time, however- upon the second import of the same file in the same course, the second quiz that was created will be overwritten with the import.
I tested this and whenever re-importing a QTI zip file from a quiz export, I was seeing a new quiz being created. However, if you import the same QTI zip a second time it does not create a third copy. In my tests, this would overwrite the previously imported copy. That would be why our import page does give a warning: Importing the same course content more than once will overwrite any existing content in the course.
So it sounds like it could be a limitation of the import tool and not being able to update quizzes with QTI files. If we believe that is the case, members of our Product and Engineering team want to hear from you if there is anything that would make your experience with Canvas better. Feel free to submit your suggestions to our Ideas Page here: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Idea-Conversations/idb-p/ideas
How Idea Conversations work in our Community: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Community/How-do-idea-conversations-work-in-the-Instructure-Community/ta-p/2980
As for the format of these files- Unfortunately we don't have much documentation of the format of these QTI files. I was seeing a good response in the community here:
Canvas supports the QTI 1.2 and 2.1 specifications.
Asking someone for example QTI files is unlikely to get one that has the issues you're struggling with.
While writing your own code is always more fun, there is something to be said for using an already-existing library. I found one for PHP on GitHub called qti-sdk.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for your response,
It sounds like you are wondering about Blueprint courses. As a Blueprint Admin you can create a Blueprint Course and have information synced to the Associated Courses. One thing you can manage through those Blueprint Courses is Due Dates. Due Dates can sync from the Blueprint 'Master' or 'Parent' Course to Associated Courses, and you can set those Due Dates to be locked. https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Instructor-Guide/How-do-I-lock-course-objects-in-a-blueprint-course-as-an/ta-p/1278
