Cory grew up in Northern Kentucky and finished his time in Kentucky at Eastern Kentucky University. He earned both his Bachelor of Music Education and Master of Music from EKU. During his time there, he also served as Graduate Assistant for the Director of Choral Activities. Cory moved to South Carolina in 1996 to teach Chorus at Walhalla Middle School. He spent 20 years at the same school as the Chorus teacher, earning Teacher of the Year, and additionally performing duties as Technology Coordinator, Web Master, and many other hats.
Before working for Instructure, Cory spent a year in the Office of Instruction for the School District of Oconee County as an Integration Specialist, which included being a Canvas Administrator. Since becoming a Canvas trainer, Cory has experienced great success training at all grade levels from elementary to higher education. Canvas specialties include unique uses of Canvas, Canvas for Performance-Based Teaching, and specialty areas like Canvas Studio and Canvas Catalog.
Outside of work, Cory enjoys musical theatre, anything Superman, playing piano, Bravo television, travel, and fitness.
