Bio:
I am a passionate STEAM educator with a degree in physics from the University of Connecticut. I've has spent 15 years in the Half Hollow Hills school district molding students into future-ready problem solvers. I believe in creating producers of technology instead of mere consumers. I aim to establish a network of partner schools that can join his students in preparing for the 4th industrial revolution. As a Raspberry Pi certified instructor, I incorporate physical computing, robotics, and smart technology into the science curriculum. Students in my class confront issues ranging from the future of food to climate neutrality and sustainability. Their flagship project is a fully automated vertical hydroponics farm that doubles as a community garden. Their research is facilitated by partnerships with the United Nations, NASA, and Island Harvest. Broadening the lens through which his young learners view the world has allowed for collaborations with schools on four continents.
