Bio:
After grading from DeKalb High School in northeast Indiana, I attended Central Michigan University (Fire Up, Chips!) where I completing in cross country and track while getting my Bachelor Degree in Education (focusing on Middle Level Education, with a major in Social Studies and minors in History and Mathematics).
Upon graduation I returned to my community and spent 4 years at DeKalb Middle School teaching social studies and mathematics to 6th and 7th grade students; I was specifically a project-based learning certified teacher, gaining my certification from the New Tech Network.
The next three years I spent in DeKalb Central Schools, but this time as a Technology Integration Coach. I worked primarily with elementary and middle school students and teachers as a Google Certified Trainer and PBL certified coach.
When my wife relocated for work, we moved our family to the Mishawaka, IN area and I became a district-level administrator at School City of Mishawaka. Focusing on technology and curriculum development and integration, I oversee the district's technology and edtech tool usage; I'm also our Canvas admin, and am responsible for moving our district to a K-12 model with Canvas.
