I would suggest creating the quiz but not getting the questions from a question bank. Wondering, with the students txting the answers to the others, is the questions multiple choice ones, if so how about selecting shuffle the answer, if you are using the classic quizzes. If you are using the new quizzes style, you could try shuffling the questions and answers, look in the settings section when you are building the quiz.

On the subject, one of my collegues came across GPTZero Tried it on a section of text generated by ChatGPT and was informed that the text was created by an AI. Might not be the best solution but until Turnitin fully implement their solution it could be another tool for us educators to use to identify cheating.

Sounds like the course has no end date. You would need to talk to your administrator regarding it. They can do it by selecting the settings, the sections, locate the sectio that you are in and modify the start and end date. Assuming you do not have the permission to do this yourself.

So with the recent release to the public of ChatGPT, not sure what it is then have a look at https://openai.com/blog/chatgpt/ At or college we have been discussing it and trying it out a bit to discover its capabilities. The really concerning thing is that students could potentially start to use it to produce evidence for assignments, we discovered it will even write program code for you. I noticed that Turnitin are currently working on a detector for it, see here https://www.turnitin.com/blog/sneak-preview-of-turnitins-ai-writing-and-chatgpt-detection-capability But I was wondering, is there much of a difference between the full blown version and the tool bulit into Canvas. Hoping that when Turnitin release the ChatGPT detector that it will be accessable via the Canvas API.

Morning Chris Thanks for the quick reply. I made sure that the assignment was not using a external tool, we use Turnitin a lot, it has a rubric attached, but still no luck. Checked several other courses and getting the same issue on a few others. Wondering if it could be down to the fact that students have already submitted on the assignment I'm trying to duplicate, but I'm sure if there are then the duplicate option is not there. Looks like I might have to raise a ticket for it.

I have a assignment I have been trying to duplicate. I click on the 3 dots on the righthand side and select duplicate. But, the working wheel just keeps going around and after a good 15 to 20 minutes I get an error message. Any one else expeiencing this?

First off, I know that there has been a thread about this, but the solution relates to IOS. So, had the request to see about implementing a dark theme/dark mode from several of the users here. Has any one managed it? If so how did you do it?

Just this morning I have been experiencing an error when trying to duplicate an assignment, something which I have done many times. Getting this error. It took nearly 10 minutes to return this error.. Anyone else having the same problem?

Recently I have noticed that when I create a assignment and allocate it to a section, some things are acting up. I edit the settings, assign it to the students, publish it, the when I look at the assignment is requires me to select a group before I can use the speedgrader. Please note I did not make the assignemtn a group assingment, so why am I getting this? Any ideas? I had to create a group and add the students to it so I could do the marking....

Hi If your a teacher on the course you might be able to edit the quiz and see the password. If the quiz is a New Quizzes style, scrool to the bottom and hit build, in there you will see a setting section and it should contain the password. Again assuming you have teacher access to the course..

Hi So we have quizzes ssetup using the New Quizzes method, yeah I know we cant get the responses downloaded from them. So the section was allocated to the quiz, but when the tutor goes into moderate it, it shows every student who has ever been on the course. Is there a way to filter the moderate screen and show just those in a section?

I can't believe taht this issue is still raging on.... In one of the surveys they sent me, I commented about it and still waiting to hear about it. I really think that they have literally put this in to the may be or even the to hard basket. If they would only tell us something....

Further update from the csteamapac... Because this artifact is uploaded as a file the download button will appear regardless if it's an inline preview or not. Alternatively, opening it up as a cloud document provider i.e. google drive. onedrive etc (and control the viewing permissions from there) might be a easier alternative.
