I have the same problem as this! It is not clear why this happens, there is no warning, it saved for my first 10 papers and then not for remaining papers. This has happened to me once before when grading in the speedgrader.

Thanks for the suggestion to clear my browser. However, this did not work. I am using chrome and I did go ahead and clear the browser (which I do periodically anyway). I then went into CANVAS again, into the paper docreader, marked up a few ticks/comments on the paper, and clicked to go forward to the next paper. When I've done this with earlier papers in this set in canvas, the ticks/comments are saved. However, it did not work again for this paper. My marked up ticks/comments on the document in the Docreader are not saved.

I am grading exams that will take some days to finally grade. I am marking up ticks, comments as well as using my rubric. For the first few papers, these ticks, comments have saved (even though I have not submitted any marks yet). But for the later papers, it is very annoying, these markup ticks and comments DO NOT SAVE. I move to the next paper and when I return to the previous one, the ticks, etc are not there. I don't get any message or similar that these are not saved. This seems crazy. I need to markup for later feedback but I won't be submitting the mark, etc for canvas until several days away at the end of my exam marking. this is a serious problem in canvas online grading in the system.
