I noticed an issue in the styling of some of the buttons on our canvas community. I believe this is a result of the update to the external link icon. I can't seem to fix it though. I've tried text-decoration: none in the css styling but this didn't solve the issue either. I've attached a couple of images to show the code and what it is doing.

Hi Jeff, I appreciate the comment! The Canvas Community I manage is used by the Career Readiness team at the Business School. It has all of the digital resources we provide, which includes a mix of PDF's, Videos, Links, and Copy, all laid out in a website design using the Pages feature in Canvas. Our stakeholders (Dean's Office, Faculty, Staff, and Donors) get a report every semester on how these resources are being used and what we can do to improve student engagement and awareness. We also use the community to post announcements about professional events and job opportunities that are available, and we link to the community calendar as well to do this. Each announcement usually has an image because we are sharing information we received from a third party (ie an Accounting firm presenting on campus) and they provided an image for us to share. Our community has over 6,000 enrolled Students and roughly 80 Observers/TAs/Teachers. With this amount of traffic, the 27-day report we download can get congested from user interactions with announcements/events, which aren't as valuable to us for insights as other content in the community. I currently do filter out this information in a CSV, but it would be more convenient for the Course Report tool to have these options on the front end.

I agree with this. It would be helpful if reports could be pulled for the entire length of a course, or for a greater span of time than 27 days.

We use New Analytics to measure user engagement with resources in our community. We use the announcements and calendar features to share events and new information. When we run course reports, announcements and calendar events are congesting the data because every image related to an announcement or calendar event, and each unique event or announcement, is listed many times. It would be useful when running a report to filter by content type to not have this issue after the report has been processed.

Our Canvas Community is where we share Career Resources for Business Students. Students are added in the Student role, but we also add faculty and staff as Observers so they can see and use our resources with students as needed. We would like to use the Group function to share resources with these Faculty and Staff that we do not want students to have access to, but we can only add users to groups who are in the Student role. Please make it possible to add Observer-level users to Groups. Thanks!

In our Canvas Community we use New Analytics to measure engagement with the resources we offer. Students in the college are automatically added to the community and are allowed to stay in even after graduation as long as they keep their college account up to date. Students who have graduated are moved to an Observer role. We would like to differentiate between interactions from Student-level roles and Observer-level roles. Please make it possible to measure analytics by role. Thanks!

I agree with this, but for the Coming Up feature - I run a canvas community that is not a course. We post events to the community calendar. Some students in the community have complained that the events congest their Coming Up/To Do feature and they are tired of having to clear it each time they log in. It would be helpful for them to have the option to disconnect the community calendar from the to do or coming up feature.

Hello @Chris_Hofer! Thanks so much for your response! The second line was left without the gradient intentionally. My issue was that when I saved the code, the change didn't show on the saved page. But, I believe since Canvas recently updated their RCE and specifically the html editor, that solved the issue. I was able to post the code and save it. I thought it was cool too! I was just playing with things and kind of stumbled upon the gradient. It is great to see Canvas continually improve the design abilities. Thanks, Blake

Hello, I am currently updating some HTML code in a Canvas Community I help design. I am wanting to make a heading with a background gradient. When I enter the code and preview it, it seems to work fine. But when I save the page code after updating it, the code to generate the gradient disappears. Usually, when a code isn't accepted in the Canvas HTML Editor, it won't generate a preview, so when the gradient worked in the preview mode I assumed it was accepted. I don't understand why it won't save it. Here is the code I am using that works with the preview on the page but not when I save the page.
