I wish I could export group members or show a members group in the grade center. I wish I could export group members so I could have a list of them. Students in my labs struggle to figure out what group they are in and I don't have a way to look up the student and see what group ... |

My view is definitely not the full page! In the photo below, the region inside the blue square used to occupy the full page. Now it is compressed into a tiny portion of the web page. It is more challenging to work in this altered layout as the New Quiz engine is still set up to occupy the full web page even though it is being compressed into a small fraction of the web page.

Yes! We really need a time log that shows a time and date stamp for every time a student accessed an assignment, quiz, new quiz, page, or any item in Canvas. At the end of the semester we frequently have students telling us how the assignment was never available to them in Canvas. The easiest way to end the argument is to bring up the access log and see that they accessed the assignment. The reports Canvas currently runs only show the first and last time the student accessed something, and only go back two weeks. We need the entire semester and we need time and date for every instance. I know the weekly access report shows us how many times during a week they accessed something, but that isn't helpful in refuting claims that the assignment wasn't available on a particular day.

It's really frustrating! I think I would manually figure out what the student's grade should be and type it in the grade book rather than in speed grader: not sure if that would actually work or not though. It's really a mess. In new quizzes (I don't know about classic quizzes) there is an option to re-open an attempt, but that only works if the attempt was not a timed quiz. If it was timed, re-opening isn't an option.

Hmmm... if I reopen the attempt it functionally removes the attempt from the student's grade calculation, though there are other issues. If the student had taken half the test they could have an advantage after having seen what they got wrong or possibly the correct answer depending on the settings. And they have the option to resubmit after having seen their score.

Especially when assignments are set up to average all attempts and are pulling questions from pools. Adding an extra attempt doesn't fix the fact that the student has a zero because they accidentally clicked submit before answering any of the questions.

This question is highly useful. We have faculty using advanced software for grading student answers and assigning partial credit that is not available in Canvas itself. It will make Canvas inoperable for several people in my dept. if we don't have the ability to download student responses in a spreadsheet.

I would love to be able to type in my own numbers on a formula question. I often have paired variables or am trying to have students do math for making reagents. I try to pick realistic volumes. I also often have paired data, like x always has to be greater than y, but they can both be anywhere from 0 to 14.

This would be extremely useful for my lab classes that I have merged into one course. Right now with covid, only 1/3 of the lab can meet at a time. I can look up a group and see who's in it, but I can't look up a student and see which group they are in. This would be so useful!

I have to go through each group until I find the student. I have ~150 students and they are in small groups. I wish I could make a text column in the grade center and list their group. Students know how to get to grades because it's what they ultimately care about.
