Our online students use ProctorU for proctoring. When the ProctorU proctor types in the password, the student can see it.
Is there a fix for this
Joressia and Lucas, there's a feature idea for that: New Quizzes - Hide Access Code . Please add your support and a use case that highlights why this is so important for your school.
Are they typing the password into the ProctorU system or into the Canvas Quiz? I have just tested this in Canvas and when you type the password into the Access Code field, it is hidden in Chrome 77 on my Mac running 10.14.6.
Did you test this on new quizzes?

For new quizzes, the input type is set to text. It should be set to password.
Hi Joressia Beyer,
We face the same issue here in our School. Apparently, New Quizzes doesn't hide passwords when they're typed and there's nothing we can do about it.
We have just stated why this is important. So far the feature has 20 votes yet it is integral to how our system works and using online proctoring such as ProctorU. So rather than just fix it, we have to continue to vote on it. Again, we are back to the chances of this going viral are the same as the cat video I have posted in YouTube going viral.
And this is all that has to change...
<input type="password" data-automation="sdk-access-code-textinput" id="unnTyVVKLYb3" aria-required="false" class="bwOAM_cwos bwOAM_ycrn bwOAM_EMjX">
Nine keystrokes, folks.
1. Double click the word text, then hit the backspace button.
2. Type p
3. Type a
4. Type s
5. Type s
6. Type w
7. Type o
8. Type r
9. Type d
Then save. That's it!
