Hi folks,
Our school runs several independent study courses in Canvas with upwards of 50 teacher sections. Each teacher has just a few students in their section which they grade and keep tabs on, but the rest of the students in the course need to remain hidden from them. Is there a way to turn the "limit this user to only see fellow section users" function on for every teacher in a course at one time? Ideally, I would like to do this when I enroll all the teachers into their sections through SIS import (I build the sections first via SIS import). Any tips?
As far as I know there is no built-in functionality. A feature idea to do this programatically is being discussed here:
I have asked for a clarification on whether votes on that idea would cover an SIS import need. At our institution, we could use the exact SIS import feature you inquired about here.
We are giving the Canvas Admins area a little bit of love (especially questions that are really, really old) and just want to check in with you. This will also bring this question new attention.
