New ADA Guidelines and LTIs

We are months away from the ADA compliance deadline on April 24, 2026. By this date, all web content and mobile apps must comply with WCAG 2.1 AA standards for digital accessibility.  This impacts everyone, including all faculty, instructors, TAs, staff, and students. All digital materials, including course content, must meet WCAG 2.2 AA guidelines by April 24, 2026.  

I assume Canvas will be compliant.  However, what are you doing regarding your LTIs to get ready for this deadline?

Hi Lisa- we generally go through the same vetting process for installing LTIs as we do for non-LTI software; we request VPATs from the vendor an do confirmation testing of the LTI in the test environment. If there are accessibility issues we request a roadmap from the vendor.
