I am just exploring Admin Analytics today for the first time. One thing that I am noticing is in the Average Course Score data, students that have completed the course (withdrawn) are still showing up on that report. They have a 0 grade since they are no longer enrolled in that course and their 0 grade is throwing off the average. I also saw in the Low Student Activity report students who have been deleted from the course (they dropped the course but stayed enrolled at the school) or who completed the course (withdrew from school) are still showing up. Is this the case for everyone? Is there a way to remove withdrawn students from these reports so the data is accurate for just enrolled students?
Thanks for the idea @kasey -- I would love to see this come in through ideas and themes.
We keep students with a concluded enrollment status in the data because when a course is over/complete, all students automatically get that workflow state and we want a user to be able to look at past courses (grade and activity data).
Do you use the Inactive status for drops/withdraws?
In the Student dashboard, we are currently only including scores for students in courses where their enrollment status is active or concluded. This documentation might be helpful: https://community.canvaslms.com/t5/Canvas-Resource-Documents/Admin-Analytics-Chart-and-Data-Definiti...
Our school also uses "concluded" for students who drop after the semester starts. It would be nice to have a status filter for students.
