Is there an option to view grades by student? I would like to see, on one page, one child's overall grades IN ALL OF HIS COURSES. Canvas really isn't user friendly and I waste so much time checking all 4 of my kids grades (28 courses) individually by course. UGH!
Solved! Go to Solution.
When I log in as a parent, there's a "View Grades" button on the right. When I click that, I get a list of all my children's courses and their overall grades in those courses if any grades have been entered. Is that not what you mean?
Hi @hdunlay - I'm sorry to hear you're frustrated with the way Canvas works when you're following your kids. I'm really happy that you're trying your best to keep up with all of their progress! Last fall, I wrote a blog about the Observer experience. A Letter To Canvas Observers covers a lot - including the web experience and Mobile Guides - Canvas Parent. After reading, let me know if you have any follow up questions or if you'd like to collaborate on any ideas for Canvas Studio.

Looking at the Canvas Parent app, it shows you all courses on one screen for one student at a time so you can get a quick sense of how they're doing or drill down into a particular course. Then you can switch to another child to see how they're doing. This method, rather than the observer status in Canvas itself, is best for quick overview. If you're looking at why they got a particular score on their discussion assignment it might be better to look in as an observer via a browser. parent tool
