Some of our teachers are having an issue w/ Canvas where they have created a document in Google docs and shared it w/ their students so they could type on it on their ipads and chromebooks. Its working on the chromebooks but not on any of the ipads. The students made a copy of the doc but it still doesn't let them write on it. Is there something that you have to turn on in Canvas to allow students to write on the document?

Hi Kristin. Sorry for the delay in responding but last week was ACT testing (yikes!). I have not gotten any further complaints from my teachers regarding this Google issue from first semester, so I am going to declare the issue resolved. Thanks for your follow up. Debbie Stephens
This sounds like a Google Docs permission error. Are these Chromebooks are signed into a different Google account than the iPads? Canvas can't override Google permission settings, so I'd advise checking those first.
Hi. The students are not having any issue with typing on the Google Doc
when they open it in a Chromebook. They are only having a problem with the
Google Doc when they try to open it on an Apple iPad. I had the
teacher check that the student has Google Drive linked in the student's
settings. What other settings or permissions should I check on the iPads?
Thanks

Hi Debbie - I wanted to take the opportunity to check-in. In September, you asked about Google Docs + Canvas on iPads. Have teachers had better luck with the documents they share?
