How do I suspend a student's account ?

I'm not aware of a way to really "suspend" a student account.  However, this Guide might be close to what you are wanting to do?  https://community.canvaslms.com/docs/DOC-13120-4152481702  What are your thoughts on this?  Would it work for your needs?

There are many advantages to deactivating a student in a course, not the least of which is that when reactivated all their submissions and grades are also restored.  However, there are other ways to remove students from a course, and other responses to them................
