[ARCHIVED] Adding Page from new RCE

In the old RCE, it was possible to highlight text, go to Insert Pages, and then create a new page. This created a link to an empty page that didn't exist in the Pages list until you actually Saved the page.

I'm not seeing the same Insert Page or Create Page option in the new RCE. Has that been removed? It is a really helpful tool when building out the shell of a course essentially creating placeholder pages for futher build out by the faculty member, ID, etc.

Thoughts?

I just  tested this in one of my sandboxes, in an account using the New RCE, and it seems to work just as expected and like the legacy RCE. See screenshot below.

Note the "+ Link to a New Page" at the bottom of my links list on right. See How do I edit a page in a course?

If you do not find that it is this way in your account, then I can only suggest submitting a support ticket.

@kmeeusen That's the old RCE you are showing.  The New RCE only has one row of buttons and the Content Selector on the right is completely gone.

@Amanda_L_Albrig I don't see a way to create a new page right from the new RCE either.  I didn't use the feature much but it was nice at times to be able to link to a page that didn't exist yet while working on content.

You also don't seem to be able to tell Canvas which folder to upload new files to when you are attempting to do so while editing a page. That was a great feature as well since we highly encourage the use of Folders and file organization within the Files area of Canvas.
