I have set up 10 outcomes at the SubAccount level. The outcomes are set as Below Mastery(1), Near Mastery(2), and Mastery(3). For each outcome I set Mastery as 2.75 because I'm using the Decaying Average and the outcome is being measured over the course of 18 assignments in two different courses. (9 in each course). I have added those outcomes to a Rubric. I have provided ratings for all 18 assignments for a test student. The expectation I have is that I should see the students progress toward mastery represented in the Mastery Learning Gradebook (Green for Mastery, Yellow for Near Mastery, Orange for Below Mastery). None Outcomes have been rated to Mastery even though the test students have achieved over 2.75. Any idea why mastery is not appearing? It would be really helpful if it did.

Here's another update. So, I have three levels of Mastery. For each Outcome I set mastery at 2.75 out of 3. I created the outcomes to use Decaying Average. But, even though a student earns greater than 2.75 on the outcome, the system still indicates that the student has only achieved the Nearing Mastery. This seems very buggy.

I have set up 10 outcomes at the SubAccount level. The outcomes range from N=5 to N=7 where N is the number of times a student needs to receive a rating of mastery on the rubric to achieve mastery. I have added those outcomes to a Rubric. I have aligned the rubric with 18 assignments in two different courses. (9 in each course) I have provided ratings for all 18 assignments for a test student. The expectation I have is that I should see the students progress toward mastery represented in the Mastery Learning Gradebook (Green for Mastery, Yellow for Near Mastery, Orange for Below Mastery). The only color mastery level listed with a color indicator is the one with the lowest required ratings. None of the other Outcomes have been rated to Mastery yet but have been rated as either Near or Below Mastery. Yet, none of those ratings appear to show up in the Learning Mastery Gradebook. (see image). Any idea why progression toward mastery is not appearing? It would be really helpful if it did.

It would be great if the To Do items would sync with other events, assignments in calendar feeds. Students should expect their Canvas calendar and their synchronized calendars in other apps to show the same information. The fact that To Do items do not appear on the sync’d calendar makes the To Do item setting useless to students. Please consider updating the code to improve this function.

Hi @igustafson , This is not quite what I mean. I know students can see their performance on a course by course bases, which is what the link you sent outlines. What I'm looking for is something more inclusive/holistic. What I'm saying is that if a student is in a program that constitutes 14-20 courses and all of those courses map to the same Outcomes that the student should be able to see how they are performing as a whole within the program. One way to do that is with a spider plot diagram. See the example below where series 1, 2, and 3 would be classes and the axis would be the Outcomes. I cannot find this so I'm wondering if that means posting this as an idea. Thank you for your reply, Amanda

I'm trying to determine whether it is possible for a student to see their Outcomes achievements as a whole for a program. I know students can see the Mastery Learning by course. In the scenario I'm proposing, Outcomes are used and applied at a programmatic level. Instead of students seeing where they are by course in terms of Outcomes achievement, I'd like the students to be able to see where they stand in terms of attaining Outcomes within their program of study. I'm not seeing that this is possible and I wanted to see if I am missing something or if this indeed is not possible within Canvas from the student view at this time. Hi @igustafson, I've found that page, but find that most of the resources seem to address student how-tos. I'm really looking for a more holistic picture from a faculty perspective. How does a faculty member build out Canvas in a way that integrates assignments with requirements for a program that students will reflect in their portfolio? I was wondering if someone could point me in the direction of the best Get Started instructions for faculty (including Instructional Designers) who would like to Integrate Portfolium into their courses? I see a number of instructions for students on how to create a Portfolium portfolio, but am having a hard time finding resources that outline for faculty how to get started with creating assignments that would integrate into a student's Portfolium portfolio (as a required component). @jfox44 what application did you use to create the virtual assistant for your course? Does it integrate with the Canvas API to answer the questions you noted in your post? @ScottSCUHS I have the same question. In general, it seems like aligning an outcome with a question would provide the best indication of mastery, assuming the same outcome is measured numerous times. That being said, I cannot get any data to appear in my testing. I've tried changing how Mastery is reported (Decaying Average, n_Times, etc) with no joy. Is this type of measurement simply 0/1 where 0 is incorrect and 1 is correct? Does that mean that the Outcome measure of Mastery would simply be 1? The confusing part is that in New Quizzes Outcomes can be added to individual questions and to the quiz itself. I can get neither to work. I welcome any suggestions on how to move forward.

I have images that already have descriptions and alt text added to them, but when I upload them through the RCE the system, Canvas, does not seem to be able to identify that content. Am I missing something or am I going to need to go through and add that content again once the images are uploaded into Canvas?

I am very interested in hearing updates on this issue. As noted by @davene_eyres the absence of the ability to unlink multiple items at a time will be extremely time consuming. I’d also like to put a plug in for linking to a new page, which was in the old editor but is not in the new editor. The ability to link to new page is great when building out a course template.

It would be great if this feature could be added back into the new RCE. I encourage faculty to organize their course files area into Folders to make it easier for them to find content and control file organization. This is an important feature to have back.

You also don't seem to be able to tell Canvas which folder to upload new files to when you are attempting to do so while editing a page. That was a great feature as well since we highly encourage the use of Folders and file organization within the Files area of Canvas. Here's what it looked like in the old RCE.

In the old RCE, it was possible to highlight text, go to Insert Pages, and then create a new page. This created a link to an empty page that didn't exist in the Pages list until you actually Saved the page. I'm not seeing the same Insert Page or Create Page option in the new RCE. Has that been removed? It is a really helpful tool when building out the shell of a course essentially creating placeholder pages for futher build out by the faculty member, ID, etc. Thoughts? Thank you for your time.

I have faculty that want to use the Letter Grade or the GPA score grading options but they DON'T want students to see the score that was issued. Is there any way to not show students the score and to only show students the rating or letter grade they received? For example: on a Pass Fail scoring scheme Pass may be 80 - 100. Students may receive any score within that range and still receive a Pass. The faculty just want the students to see Pass, not the score they received.

I ran into this in December 2017 and was told the issue was fixed. I'm wondering if something was done in the background again to break it. ----------message from 2017----------------- Subject: Canvas Support: Images not appearing in Quizzes - Case #02668867 Hello: Thank you for contacting Canvas Support. I understand that file links within the Final Quiz are showing as broken when students take the Quiz. In looking into this it appears that this may have been in relation to a previous bug that has since been fixed. I can see that when I try resetting the links by embedding the image from the course files at this time it displays the image correctly. Please follow the steps in THIS guide to get those image links reset and please let us know if users are still reporting trouble with this so we can take a closer look if needed. Thank you!
