Thank you for your detailed solution to this issue (and apologies for my delayed response). As you might imagine the time required to use the techniques you described adds a significant burden to the task of quickly creating a robust quiz. That added effort is a huge disincentive to using Canvas for mathematical quizzes that are anything but multiple choice. As I believe you and others have said previously, users learn quickly not to rely on Canvas for creating robust mathematical exercises.
Are you personally aware of any efforts to expand the capabilities of Canvas to use algorithmic based problem definitions so that robust mathematical quizzes can be developed more easily? Or should we just count on finding external test/quiz generators for the time being?
