Is there a way to link an announcement to Canvas? For example posted something to social media or another LMS.

I am not understanding what you are asking, could you clarify?

Are you wanting to post an announcement in Canvas that links to a social media site or another LMS? If so, then the answer is yes. You can create external links everywhere in Canvas that includes a Rich Content Editor (RCE), and as a content item in a module. I don't recommend using these very often unless you are sure of your students tech skills. We don't want to send them out of Canvas if it is going to be hard for them to find their way back. I would also be careful about sending them to sites that require further logging in. The following guides will get you there:

Or, are you asking if you can post links to Canvas Announcements in other sites? If so, then the answer is yes, because everything in Canvas is a web page. Go to the announcement, copy the URL at the top of the browser, then post that URL where needed. Keep in mind that students would still need to log into Canvas after navigating there.

I will do my best to clarify. If I have an external feed from a social media or other LMS can I link it so it appears within the announcements area?  

Also wondering if there is a way to disable or hide the date and time when an announcement is posted? Please see attached for clarification

Hi @kendallynn 

Thank you for the clarification! You can embed RSS feeds anywhere with a Rich Content Editor (RCE), which includes Announcements. This guide will help, How do I add an external RSS feed to an announcement as an instructor?

If your social media platform supports RSS feeds, then you can do same with them, or otherwise you can embed a link to the site.
